How It Works
We are a small family business – 15 years strong – dedicated to bringing quality produce to people in small towns. We’re passionate about supporting small and regional growers, and we love helping younger generations learn about our delicate produce system.
We run several routes throughout parts of NM, OK, and TX, and we also offer pickups at Alameda Baptist Church on 2nd Street in Albuquerque. Our refrigerated trucks bring orders directly to small towns, where we meet customers at designated pickup spots. After you place an order, you’ll receive a confirmation email, followed by a text with your pickup time and location as the date approaches, plus a reminder. Most orders are paid online (credit/debit cards, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal). Payment at delivery is available (cash or check), but we ask that orders over $100 be prepaid.
Our mixed produce baskets are perfect for customers who want smaller amounts of a variety of items. We usually assemble them right on-site (it’s a lot of fun!) and we use fresh, seasonal produce. You’re always welcome to email us at yourfreshestfood@gmail.com with ideas or special requests. We also keep a substitution box at the site. If you’d like your community to offer these baskets, please reach out. At just $30, they’re an incredible value and a great inspiration to start cooking or snacking. We include extra items in case something gets damaged or if you’d like to share. We often add items like avocados, pineapples, and bananas, even though they aren’t regionally grown.
Substitutions & Pricing
We do everything in our power to bring exactly what you ordered. However, due to factors such as weather, seasonal availability, labor shortages, and inflation, we reserve the right to make substitutions or adjust pricing based on market conditions. We will make every effort to contact you beforehand and are always happy to explain any changes at delivery.
Pickups
If someone else is picking up your order, please ensure we have their contact information – and that they have ours. They must bring a list of what they’re picking up and check it for accuracy. We work hard to ensure orders are correct, but our drivers are on the road constantly and mistakes can happen.
Deliveries
It’s very helpful if you’re present at delivery so we can review your order together. We also try to bring fun extras – items you may not have tried or smaller bag options. These can be purchased at delivery using cash, check, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.
Mistakes
If something isn’t right, we’re eager to fix it. We may offer a credit immediately, or you can choose to apply it to a future delivery. If we can’t resolve it another way, we will issue a refund through your original payment method or Venmo.
Refunds
Credits or refunds are available within 24 hours of delivery. Please email photos, including any box tags, to yourfreshestfood@gmail.com.
No‑Shows & Order Changes
We post an approximate schedule on the front page of our website, and you’re always welcome to contact us with questions. We send reminder texts the day before and do our best to stay in touch on delivery day.
Any changes to your order must be made 48 hours before delivery, as we shop for, prepare, and load orders in the days leading up to your route. Please don’t ask us to sell your order to someone else – we already bring as many extras as space and budget allow.
A Note of Appreciation
We truly appreciate you. We’re doing everything we can to keep prices stable despite rising produce costs, transportation challenges, and fuel expenses. Your support, especially when you help spread the word, means more than we can express.
Locations
We absolutely love bringing fresh produce and regional goodies to customers in small towns. We also offer items for those who are canning, freezing, or freeze‑drying. In some areas, there’s even a wonderful person who creates “baskets” from bulk items. If you’d like to be that person for your community, please contact Kara at 970‑261‑7450.
We did have to reduce some of our routes this past year. If you don’t see your town listed on our schedule (next tab), please reach out so we can explore options. Please do not place or prepay for an order until we confirm, as credit‑card processing fees are non‑refundable if a refund becomes necessary.
We’ve also had to be more strict about not delivering to towns with fewer than three orders, especially when we’re using our trucks. If you have ideas for helping your community learn about our service, we’d love to hear them.
